Just nipped outside to see what the thermometer in our sheltered back garden says .....  it is barely 10 degrees C.... there is a constant fine rain..... summer it  is not!

Just been down to post office in the village and the car thermometer is showing 13. The river is as high as I've ever seen it in July. I can't even get Maureen to think about moving back to Yorkshire never mind somewhere warm and dry (Madeira would suit me! ;D )

For those of you who are yearning for summer, try this unbearable heat and see if you still need it. We just had 5 days with temps over 100 Fahrenheit and this is what's in store for the next 5.
