This is for David N.....

 Robert Plant and EmmyLou Harris...
(Attachment Link)

Thanks for that Maggi, you've made my night. Cor! why don't all grey haired ladies look like that ;D

Talking about Alison Krauss, another of my favourites, and I have most of her stuff (and boy, can she play a fiddle). One of her best tracks (in my view)

About almost of current "pop" music irritates me.  Changing the subject somewhat I believe this song is appropriate for the current weather and financial climate

Felt I had to post this as an antidote in case we are getting too gloomy.... though heavens knows, for a joyful song it  could be more  cheery sounding!!
Kate and Anna McGarrigle with a youthful Rufus Wainwright singing "Better times are coming" !  ;D

John, then I can't invite you over to my house around the Christmas holidays where I've been know to put Celine Dion's version of Ave Maria on indefinite repeat :D

Presumably from the album "These Are The Special Times" which means there's no point John visiting us over Christmas either.
You want irritating? Anyone who tries to imitate Robert Johnson.

Exactly

You want irritating? Anyone who tries to imitate Robert Johnson.

Does that include Eric Clapton's interpretation of the blues,  EC (the GOD) is my idol.  Clapton does some Robert Johnson covers, have to admit Johnson's version of Love in Vain is more compelling, but I can't help but idolize any song by Clapton.

Clapton's description of Robert Johnson's abilities, at least he tries to understand Johnson's virtuosity :D

Mark,
That's enough to consider joining the Cargo Cult.

Had to look up Cargo Cult, but after reading about it, I don't get the reference.  Maybe a clue to your seaboard Puzzle thread with some mystery cargo under the tarps? ;D
