« on: February 29, 2016, 10:19:27 PM »
In this thread I will document my visits to the botanic gardens in Oxford during 2016.

The first visit of the year and Melianthus major is nearly in bloom.................

The orangery was heady with scent. The two major culprits were Citrus medica.............

And Jasminium polyanthum...............

Polygala fruticosa..............

Dendrobium x delicatum var. album.............

Grevillea johnsonii has all the makings of a cracking plant..............

Moving on to the porch which is the entrance to the glasshouses. Pterostylis curta is one of my favourites in the collection...............

Arum purpureospathum................

Colchicum hungaricum...............

Nice to see Plumbago indica.  I bought a small plant of this at a local garden centre many years ago.  I still have it.  This is the first time I have seen another plant of it.
I had Columnea x banksii as a house plant once but it is long gone.

Despite looking for it I've yet to find a plant or seed  :(

Thanks chaps! As a regular visitor there will be updates. Unfortunately by the time I got outdoors on Sunday it was raining.

Thanks Chris. The light was so poor I almost switched the camera to auto but realised that I just had a cob on because I'd been dragged out shopping!
