We have had the driest and one of the coldest winters since 1942 here where I live. The last week has been about normal but the forecast says sunny, dry and unseasonally cold weather next week.

Traffic jam had eased by the time I was heading north into Remuera after 7 yesterday evening Steve. Ridiculous that one accident can cause total gridlock! :(

Here is South Australia it is so dry and hot. I must have scared the thunderstorm away yesterday by cleaning out the gutters. Lots of enticing dark clouds move over but that is all that they do the last week.

Lets hope we all get some rain soon . We have traffic problems in Balclutha too . One car in front of you at the give way sign means traffic is heavy , two cars is a traffic jam and three cars is gridlock - may as well park up and walk

Hope you all get some rain where needed! I don't complain much about our weather these days (though sometimes about the shovelling  ;D ) since overall we have been quite near normal mostly in the last years, unlike all the extreme heat, cold, drought, floods in so many parts of the world...

With all the milk tankers there it is quite busy but then it has only one street and hence no intersections , so as long as you don't stop you're fairly safe .
For a wee while there I wasn't sure whether you meant Stirling near Balclutha or Stirling near Dunblane

Yours. I long to be away from here in Auckland, but needs must. I learned to drive in Callander, 16 miles from the other Stirling, and there were no traffic lights or roundabouts in the town then. Even when we left Scotland over two years ago I could still drive to school in 25 minutes for a 23 mile journey. The journey was shorter - 20 miles - 30 odd years ago because there were no roundabouts and no roads across perfectly good farm land to make the journey quicker but meaning you circled your destination and approached from the opposite direction. Actually, all that did was negate the increase in time an increase in traffic density had brought about. ::)

I wasn't sure whether to post these in 'Weather' or 'Flowering Now'.  Back to snow again here.  It is melting a bit so hopefully it won't stay around too long.

Good Grief, Wim! :o
Can you remember ever having had so much snow in March?

Todays morning it started to snow in large flakes in Frankfurt area, too.

No, I can't and my parents don't recall having that much snow in March which stays either....according to our weather forecast we had to go back to the 1890's to have temperatures remaining under 0°C for an entire day around the 10th of March too! Records are being broken  :-\ :-\

Wim,
the winter storm caused lots of chaos today, in Belgium, in North of France, Germany.

In my area a mass collison on A45 highway happend, more then 100 cars were involved, fortunately nobody got deadly injured. But highway is still closed.

Meanwhile down under, yesterday I saw a white fluffy thing in the sky for the first time in nearly a week. My son tells me it was a cloud, but my memory is quite short these days. It seems to have gone today. :-\ If there is not any rain soon farmers here will be in really serious trouble.
