Not so common bluebell
« on: April 27, 2012, 04:18:10 PM »
I have what appears to be a genuine white English Bluebell flowering for the first time from seed.  I'd love to post images but I no longer see the option to do that.

??? That is a pale blue one. Pure white plants grow in my local wood.

I saw two lovely plants that were found in a French woodland earlier this month. A grey one - yes grey and a green one. Both I hope are now in cultivation

Roland, white bluebells are a common sight and I'm sure they must appear in all woods

Let's try this:

Not quite the usual forum format but at least you can see them :)

I only had about 20 seedlings so I was surprised to see one of them come up white.

I have seen millions of bluebells
but still not a single white and pink one in the wild
probably they are less common in Normandy
So I will be happy if someone want to swap
unusual wild collected ones

went to my local wood today and saw masses of normal bluebells. good number of whites, a few pale almost sky blue flowers and a group of very dark blue flowers.

I see all sorts of colours locally but every one I've examined has been a hybrid.  Spanish Bluebells are ubiquitous in gardens round here and it is hard to find an authentic-looking English one anywhere.

That's why I search a real wild collected white one

Mark are you sure yours are not hybrids
How fare are the gardens away
