Happy Birthday Fred.  What WOULD we do without you?  Well we'd have withdrawal symptoms for a start!  ;D

Well, David, I knew Young Baxendale was having us on with the 21 years old thing.....( must be thirty if he's a day  ::) :P)    ..........but now he's been onsite and whipped away his birthday listing altogether  :o ???    Not to worry, all the more cake for the rest of us!

Sorry, Maggi. I've never really done birthdays and find them a bit embarrassing. Being on Christmas Eve, mine always got lost in the Christmas preparations and I've always been a bit shy about drawing attention to it when I know people are busy with the Yuletide stuff. Probably worried that no-one will notice and I don't like saying "hey, birthday happening over here" to get attention when everyone's fixated on Christmas. I've actually put my birthday on the forum calendar and taken it off again a coupe of times now.

And I put my hands up to the age thing. Not 21 anymore. Nowhere near it.  :-[   56 actually.

Stuff and nonsense, Martin, everybody deserves a day when people can tell them that it's good to know them and have them around....... so take your virtual cake and cuddles and enjoy them!  :-*

Thanks Maggi. Actually, since Ivi and I got together it's even worse. Slovaks celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, so now my birthday is on the big family Christmas day itself. I'm currently making the special Slovak Christmas soup for dinner - pearl barley, dried mushrooms, stock and saurkraut. Yummy. Followed by special Slovak Christmas potato salad and fish (should be carp, but we have lemon sole in breadcrumbs instead). Tomorrow I'll be cooking the goose and all the trimmings.

Martin,

Happy Birthday!!!!  It still would b for you, even if it is now the day after for us.  All the VERY best!!  8)

There's all the carp you can eat in our lakes and rivers around here, so feel free to come and catch as many as you want.  They're a pest here, well and truly.
Cheers.

Thanks for sending birthday wishes (some on the forum and some in emails) when I know everyone was busy with Christmas. It's a stupid time to have a birthday. I should have an official birthday and an unofficial one, like the Queen. Maggi, would that be permitted? I'll see if I can think of an appropriate date for the 'official' Baxendale birthday at some other time of year and see if Maggi will agree to pop it on the calendar with an explanatory note.  ;D

Reasonable enough request, Martin.... might I suggest a date when there are no other Forum birthdays.... that way we all get a fairer cake distribution  ::) ;D

There's a whole week between the 18th and the 24th July with no cake.....what about then?  ::)
There's also such a week in  Janauary, between the 10th and 16th, but that's still too close to Christmas, I think??
