Lots of cheery birthday wishes today to UDO, who is Dirk, of course, and also to Brian Madden.
I know Dirk is around here somewhere at the moment....Hope you have lots of extra flowers opening for your birthday, Dirk!
Haven't seen much of Brian here lately, but we hope he's well and having a good day.

David you say, "t's wrong to hit the aged Paddy."
Thank Goodness for that, I feel perfectly safe now.
This is beginning to sound like a rough bash, bikers from NZ and carp.

Listen, I made John Finch responsible for Security on the grounds that his Colesbourne pictures showed that he had the uniform, so he will deal very effectively with any trouble from New Zealand "bikers", (or indeed with any whiskeyed Irishmen) but I can't expect him to look after walnuts as well. I am a Yorkshireman after all and he's doing it as a favour-he's not getting paid.

Heavens Above! Seems I was so taken with the romantic gesture made by the BD for Valentine's Day (he got me a lovely little dendrobium orchid plant) that I have almost forgotten that it is also an important day for two forumists who are celebrating their birthdays!
Mick McLouglin and Tim Orpin
have their birthday today. Many Happy Returns to them both!! Mind you, since Tim is in Australia, with the time difference we are late in sending him our good wishes, though they are none the less sincere for that. I hope Lesley sent him lots of love in good time?!!
At least we are still in time to hope that Mick is having a good day's celebration. He may be tucking in to a large cake, even as I write!
Cheers, Birthday Boys!

Well I would have Maggi, if I'd known in time. So actually on St. Valentine's Day? I hope Angie gave him masses of red roses (more likely a Trillium). Funnily enough I had some emails from Tim on the 13th but all about seeds, no mention of a birthday. Some men are quite coy about such things.
Mick and Tim, there will be a birthday cake on Saturday for David in Devon. Perhaps you could share with him at the "do" after the Dunblane Early Bulb Show. Virtually, anyway.
I hear that the Americans are re-naming St Valentine's Day as "Singles Awareness Day.' As an acronym this translates to SAD. Says it all really.

So SAD is a funny acronym.
In my single days I delivered vanilla heart formed cakes to the ladies at work but nowadays it is only for the wife and not only on valantines. Actually very seldom at valentine.
So enjoy love all Year around instead of just one day

Lesley
I'm sure Otto will give you the run of his kitchen if you want to whip up a birthday cake for Tim when you visit in April!
Belated greetings, Tim!
cheers
