Thanks. I had a bowl of Campbell's ("the difference is in the thickness") tomato soup wth the kids and my mum came too. Rolled shoulder of Argaty lamb for tea.

Ardbeg!

Is it Ardberg Mor (can't do the twiddly bit above the 'o') £350 a bottle or one of the first batch after they re-opened in 1997?

Ardbeg Ten Year Old from Islay (established 1815). Jim Murray in his "The Complete Book of Whisky" describes it as "Unquestionably the greatest distillery to be found on Earth. If perfection on the palate exists, this is it". I concur. On special in Tesco at the moment.

Seemingly Ardbeg will be the 'Whisky of the Year 2008'. Pity that it is one of the few that I don't like! It is too sharp and iodiney for me. Would you like 4/5 of a bottle, Anthony?

Do fish swim David? Truth be told, Laphroaig 16 year old is my favourite, but Ardbeg is a good second. Lagavulin 15 year old and cask strength Caol Isla are excellent too.
