Flanders and Swann... you'll have a few of us singing away now, Sue
They don't make 'em like that any more, do they?
I think you were wise to keep your whisky preferences under wraps while at Jamiesons... when in Rome and all that, eh?

Happy Birthday, Paddy. Off you go and enjoy your new toy - well maybe tomorrow, or Thursday

Sue, when Mike first joined us, he was exhorted to have some Madeira (m'dear). He said he would

This October 1st Libra Seedlady thanks you, Maggi and Ian for the very thoughtful on-line cake.
Nice too that the time difference meant I received my first birthday wish before midnight!!!
I intend to take a day off from the seed collecting and filling orders, buy some very high-fat, rich, soft French cheese, a lovely, crunchy baguette...and go sit under a maple somewhere and watch the incredible autumn colours.
It's birthday weather one dreams of.

Many Happy Returns of the day, Kristl! Glad the weather will be good for your colour-watching day in the woods...look out for teddy bears having picnics

Happy Birthday Kristl!
I remember my breakfasts in France last April, having soft French cheese, a lovely, crunchy baguette
for breakfast and wish I could be with you
I never found such a baguette here in Germany

I was away most of Monday, or not paying enough attention, on the 8th, when it was Per-Åke Löfdahl's birthday, but I see he hasn't been around the forum officially, anyway, lately. Belated greetings, none the less.
Only one birthday next week, then three the following week, so get your singing voices in tune for the celebrations!

Sorry but I noticed just now the kind greetings on my birthday the 24th of august. My only excuse is that I spend most of the summertime in our summerhouse without internet connection. A very late thank you and I also apologize for my long absence from the forum.

Kenneth, we are pleased you have been busy enjoying the summer away from the internet, it would be a good thing for us all, I am sure! It is good to have you return, however.
Now, something is happening tomorrow, what can it be? Well, my friends (and neighbours, Mike and Linda, who looked after Lily for us when we went to the Discussion weekend) are off to Milan for a long weekend and I must tend their goldfish, Dave.... but that isn't relevant here... must be something else.... tomorrow is October 18th..would have been my Grandad's birthday ....but he has been dead a long time, so that's not it either.......AH! I have it.... it's John Lonsdale's birthday...that busy grower is turning 48....congratulations, young Lonsdale!

It's my gorgeous blue eyes and sparkling personality Maggi. Or more likely it's that I'm pushy
I think John must have been reading the "Trillium weekend at Methven" thread.
