I had an appointment today in one of the local cafe/bars, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary. A notice on the wall said "The purpose of birthdays is to remind us to eat more cake." Enough said :D :P

Well... I 'think' he has had a 'happy birthday' :) For a change this summer/autumn the weather was actually pleasant! So we did get to walk, though not as much has we had hoped,  and enjoy the day. I'm sure David is now going to start marking off his personal 'calendar to retirement'! Me too soon, maybe in a year or so...

It's a wonderful institution and can be highly recommended (remember my lietmotif-the hours are great but the money's not as good) gets even better at 65 (next year for me) when Gordon Brown starts contributing to the plant buying budget!! ;D

Will you still need me, Will you still read me, Now I'm 64.
 There's always a clue ;)
Took a day off both work and the garden yesterday for drive up to Dornoch for some sightseeing, walking and lunch.
Then home for the cake and my currently most favourite dram (brought it down from Orkney a few weeks ago.
Only another year left and then I can start growing bulbs and alpines ;D

WOW! Lots of cake needed for Saturday 22nd September.... look how many Forumists have their birthday:
 zon7mike (44) in Sweden, PaulM (38) also in Sweden, malmose13 (56) in Denmark ,and  Jindegales (21)  :o
Fond congratulations to them all, especially Paul M. who is here quite often. Huge greetings, however, to Jindegales, otherwise known as Mike, who is turning 21 ...... 21 years old, how marvelous, I bet there is going to be a fine party in Madeira for this special birthday. Congratulations and all best wishes!
