Thanks, Everyone, for your good wishes. I have been overwhelmed to receive greetings from around the world.... I have even had had phonecalls from Thomas in Germany and, can you believe it, Otto, in Australia... I nearly fell over! This is not to suggest that I am any less appreciative of the calls I've had from England, you understand! I already know Thomas to be a silver tongued charmer and now I discover that Otto is moulded from the same cake-tin, so to speak... so thoughtful, so caring, such charm, such wonderful gentlemen!     They really made me feel 21, Andrew!
Thomas tells me that for his ninth birthday, last week, his son Chris got a new mountain bike and the pair of them went for a 60km ride in celebration... in spite of his encouragment, this is not how I plan to spend this evening!

Happy Birthday Maggi.  I'm not sure i'd be happy with Anthony implying hat you're nearly 2000 years old!!  I'm guessing you must have been born some time in the 1900,s of course.  ;D

Happy Birthday!!
Cheers.

Brian, it was the only let-down of the day... a coffee cake, bought from Tescos and not nearly enough coffee taste to it.... not a patch on my late Mum's.... bless her, she always made me a coffee cake for my birthday, then she and I  would scoff the lot... no-one else is very keen on coffee cake here!! Bit of luck that, eh?
Not to worry, I'll eat it with a cup of strong coffee and that will boost the flavour.  :-\
