It was Beaumes de Venise, but not this Cru...a lesser type, I think, but delicious. It was some time ago we last had it, and I remember that we were very pleased to get it at a good price. I don't remember what the price was, or even where we got it now... I only remember how good the wine was and how sorry we are that none is left!
So tasty with pudding or cake!

I am talking of a white muscat, of course, but I see yours is a fine red....such a fine region.... and with the Mont Ventoux to cycle before one buys, eh? It is easier to source from a vintner than to cycle the monutain, that is sure!

Hans, would you like to swap a few seeds of Cyc. cilicium album and/or C. purpurascens album for a bottle of NZ's very fine Martinborough or Central Otago Pinot Noir?

14.5% which is, I think, the highest that wines go. Nothing timid about them

Maggi,

Mary has gone to collect one of the boys from work. I have been left to sort out dinner - going out was hit on the head as friends announced they were coming this way and staying until Saturday. Couldn't very well tell them to pass along so dinner out will have to wait a while. Lots of wine at home all the same.

Many thanks, Paddy
