Congratulations to you both.
Mary celebrate our 28th anniversary on the 9th and as I sometimes wistfully say, under my breath: if I had done away with her when I first met her I would have my sentence served and be free now. Ah, wishful thinking.
Best wishes to you both. Hope you celebrated in style and many more such anniversaries in the future.

Belated congrats from WAY further south than Tony G.
35 years is impressive. You only get half that for murder you know!!??
I know, I know.... my humour is somewhat suss.
Congrats on the big event though!! Couldn't happen to nicer people!!
2 minutes later ...
P.S. I only just read Paddy's posting properly and realised he'd made the same comment about murder etc. Oh dear, there are others here who have my sense of humour. There's obviously no hope for this place!!

Whilst we are on the subject of wedding anniversaries, the long suffering and eternally placid Mrs Booker will be 'celebrating' her thirtieth year of marital bliss tomorrow. Many congratulations Sue on your foresight, your good fortune, but mostly your fortitude!

Congratulations to Sue and Cliff.....who said she'd never stick it out? You are a lucky man, Booko !
Yes, enough cake for the time being... for Sue and Cliff , let's raise a toast in fine wine instead!
Paddy is a keen chef, so we'll have to give thought about celebrations for Mary and Paddy's "do"...

OK, You can skip the cake...a nice bottle of wine will do just fine.
Re that son who suckered me during the week: I sent him to the wine rack to fetch a 'nice' bottle of wine for dinner yesterday. When he returned I was curious to know what thought had gone into his selection, what was 'nice' to him. The answer:
"This is the best one, look 13%"

A belated congrats from me too. We celebrated our 12th on 28 July in Mexico and came back to champagne and chocolate strawberries - a total surprise gift from Vivienne's sister.

Fabulous, strawberries got up as a barber shop quintet ! Full marks to Vivienne's sister, we'll have to raise our game.
Congratulations.... how romantic to celebrate in faraway Mexico.... did you dance to a mariachi (?)band?

Yesterday was Derek Bacon's birthday.... but since he is so much younger than Glassford... well, by a couple of dozen months.... I managed to get the date wrong! Apologies, Derek and many happy returns of YESTERDAY to you! Is it in one of the "Alice in Wonderland" stories that there is the " A very merry unbirthday to you" song? I'm singing it, whatever.... be grateful for a silent screen!

We must take note of Hans' remarks: he and Frau Joschko are soon to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary, too.... I hope that his lady wife also enjoys the strong wine!

Oh, yes, Hans, we will drink a bottle of Beaumes de Venise with you any time, it is a favourite of mine, too!
It seems that wives of 35 years have much in common!
