Re the home cooked versus restaurant, I was about to remark that there speaks a true Scotsman, before Maggi beat me to it, but having dealt with Scots, Dutch, Russians and Chinese recently, I have to say that the Scots are at the top of the tree for LACK of parsimony and general stingyness. The Chinese win hands down, every time. I know they are used to a culture of bargaining but I heard a Chinese woman in the supermarker last week, trying to beat down the price of a loaf of bread, at the check-out. The poor girl there was totally bemused.
