A very happy birthday to Ian Young, the Bulb Despot, who is the AGS Vic Group's special guest at our meeting tomorrow night!  :o As it was too close to his birthday for him to come in person, he has very kindly sent us a DVD to delight and instruct us on the Joys of Erythroniums! :D
Best wishes, Ian, we'll shout you a Malt when we see you in 2011 ;D
cheers

Don't cross your fingers Angie, it's on it's way. Driving rain and strong winds here and worse to come overnight. You are joking, of course? Maggi + cake= none spare ;D

Thank you dear friends for all the kind wishes- it makes a despot feel very warm and wanted.

I am having a good day - Maggi offered to take me out for lunch but I opted to spend the money in the local fishmonger and cook it myself then I could not complain about my fish being over cooked or over seasoned.

We had lemon sole in a butter, lemon and prawn sauce, small salad potatoes and garden peas.
It was perfect - even if I say so myself and for a fraction of the cost of the restaurant.

Bless the Despot, he is a Scotsman through and through, with any tendencies to reckless spending beaten out by his Mother's Yorkshire genes.  ::)
He's tootled off  now for his daily swim and steam .......... and when he returns I intend to question him ...CLOSELY.... about the identity and whereabouts of the "beautiful wife" Angie spoke off.... if I find her I'll break her lovely neck and seriously the wound the Duplicitous Despot, birthday or not!!
