Well puzzled, Davy, you caught us all out with that one!
I had no idea at all and Ian kept muttering but never came up with anything concrete  ;D

I've flowered them, but never looked that closely at them obviously!!  ;D  I kept trying to fit the picture to Puya or something equally unlikely...... although I think most likely not even remotely like that.  ;D  Great puzzle.
Cheers.

I am sure this will be easy for some of you, but I was bowled over by the size of this seed pod today.  Any ideas?

Striking shortage of answers to your puzzle, Brian. All I can offer is that it looks as though one ought not to eat it.  :-\

Brian, not in my department here, but have seen it a few years ago on a plant in the livingroom, which many months of the year is just green and in my eyes not worth keeping it  :-\ But even old plants flower every year and she is always proud when it flowers. I believe it's the fruit of a Stephanotis.

I think the tail is the giveaway, a clue would be to consider the colour of the flowers and possibly where we have been this week.  I was astounded at the size of the seed pod compated to my finger and I think there is only one seed inside (although I could well be wrong).  Not something often seen unless you have a great deal of growing space!
