New growth

Here in Denmark the flowering is almost over
but a new season is coming up

New growth season.

This is for some roxieanums even more exciting
than the flowering one.

Jens, you are so right... the new foliage on so many Rhodos is truly breathtaking in its beauty and variety.  It drives me crazy when people say " rhdos are all just big green leaves" ....makes me SO furious!!

I can't say the flowering season is almost over! I have rhodos flowering in my garden from March to September!

But here is one with new growth. I haven't found the label and do not remember the name (as usual).
BTW what do you call those modified stem leaves (the red ones) of the rhododendron?

Hoy - We call them bracts. What a colourful show they give.

It's 6c here and the potato vines Midnight Lace & Maguarite have wilted. Frost threat for the northern part of Nova Scotia tonight!

No, no, please continue! For a start, we need to see the transition from lime green to dark red for the sheriffii indumentum... .and there is SO much more!

Think of all the folks out there who need to SEE how wonderful rhodo  foliage can be!!

To put an end to all of this , no new growth but some lovely flowers.

(908) campylogynum (Hybrid maybe - I am doubtfull to this as the foliage has no nasty smell from brachyanthum.
My hybrid "Tessa Dane" ( campylogynum x brachyanthum) has been crossed again with campylogynum. Seedlings with yellow flowers
still have evidence of brachyanthum. This is absolute one of my favourites.
