Can anyone guess who's holding Green Brush?
Well, if the rest of the person looked like this.....
(Attachment Link)
then it might be Emma.... but that ain't Emma with the GreenBrush!

Maybe she's the one who scoffed John's coat.  ???

Nice outfit Maggi.

Careful Emma, you've caught the galanthus bug, don't get infected with the camouflage bug or that hat will have to change ;D ;D

Sunday I came down with a stinking cold. :(

Today I was in the office working for the morning and then did my usual brisk journey to the RHS halls near Victoria station to arrive at about midday.  I do enjoy this day each year, out of the many Galanthus days, as this one has people from all over the country (in a room with lovely high ceilings).  Pic1.

Upon entering the halls I did find myself getting rather anxious seeing just how many people had crammed in this year but luckily I immediately was met by Melvyn and then I managed to relax into the annual meeting of Galanthophiles.   The next two hours were filled with chatting with old friends and meeting new ones.  This really is a day that is worth attending each year as you never know just who you will bump into.   ;)

As I was feeling under the weather I didn't take as many pictures as I normally would - and some of these are not the greatest but will hopefully give a feel for the day.

There were many other SRGC members in attendance so hopefully someone else will post some better pics in the main February thread as this is the best I could managed for my 'blog' while I am suffering form "man flu"!   ::)

2 - Avon Bulbs
3 - Foxgrove
4 - Lockyer
5 - Trymposter
6 - Gloria
7 - An unnamed seedling on Avon bulbs stand - reminded me of the greatorex ones that David Quinton, Brian Ellis, Richard Hobbs and I found a couple of years back - I want to try and compare the pics when I get time.
8 - Greenbrush - some nicely marked ones.

Hi Diane

I was feeling under the weather so didn't take as many photos or pay as much attention as usual.  Maybe this is the stand?

Thanks John, most interesting to see.  Isn't that 'Witchwood' a stunner, I know I've seen 'Rodmarton Arcturus' for sale in someone's list but had no idea what it was like.

John,

I look forward to this day each year for, although I have never been to the RHS Halls, I am always able to have a peep in thanks to your photographs.

A lovely selection of snowdrops as always.

With thanks, Paddy

Avon Bulbs have a new snowdrop called "Trympostor" which looks like "Trym" but isn't.  I was slightly miffed because I had already coined that name for a snowdrop that johnw was referring to as "Trym impostor" because it had been supplied to him as "Trym" but wasn't http://www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=4921.75 .  I pointed that out to Alan Street on the Avon Bulbs stand today, but my name did not really have a snowdrop to attach itself to, so we concluded that is was a good example of "great minds think alike".
Almost in Scotland.

Brian - the Snowdrop Company were selling it this year for £40.  I nearly ordered it but plumped for Rodmarton Capella - wish I had ordered 'Arcturus', it is lovely.

I went to the RHS halls today but need to download my photos.  I do not expect them to be nowhere near as clear as Johns as I was having low light level problems.  It was a great day though and the crowds were gone when I arrived at 2.30pm.  Will post some photos tomorrow.
