It's a big place! Where are you based? Fancy a run up north? Only 1.5 hours to my house

A warm welcome Angie :)

Depending on where you plan to go you should be able to find worthwhile gardens.  For some general ideas try the Heritage Ireland site & pick the appropriate region(s).  It lists various things but includes the main gardens too.  And here's another site more specifically devoted to gardens.  If you're in Dublin then the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, are well worth visiting I think.  For something quite different I would recommend Helen Dillon's beautiful garden, here.  Googling will undoubtedly uncover more.

If you're in the Cork area let me know.  In any case, have a great time 8)

Ferry booked, I can never make my mind up , will I go or won't I so this is why I never get anything planned. The last time I went to Ireland we did the Northern Ireland and then stayed at Carlingford for a week , we got as far as Wicklow because of my sisters condition at the time we never got to Cork ,she really wanted to go to Cork, so I am doing it for her. This time it will only be me and hubby.

The only thing we need is some sunshine, fed up with all the rain here.

Ashley l looked at the link that you gave, plenty of places take my fancy. We are only there for four days but nobody would believe what myself and my husband can pack in that short time. I can't sit on my bum for five minutes, well enough time to eat a big slice of cake  ;D

Is there any nurseries or garden centres beside Cork. I went to Helen Dillon's garden on the last visit, really enjoyed my visit there what a friendly lady.

Mark I wish I could visit you but I don't think we will have the time.

Maggi hope you have a nice birthday and keep a wee slice of cake for me...Maggi I don't think there are any golf courses in Ireland  ::)
