Visit to prague Rock Gardens
« on: May 10, 2010, 08:37:32 PM »
Hi all, I have just come home from the most fantastic trip to see the rock gardens in Prague and visit the Rock garden exhibition held in Prague. Ann and I went with Cyril and Annielle Lafong. We met our guide and driver Jiri Papousek and also met up with Kaj and Minna   Anderson form Denmark. I intend to post pictures over several days one garden at a time just so much to see., Day one the garden of Ota Vlasak.

Wonderful pictures Ian, thank you for the tour but perhaps you ought to clarify who the picture in post 4 reminds you of before you upset all your female friends!

Hi Gail, Luc and everyone, yes perhaps I should explane who the picture reminds me of but then again best not.(Who said it was female?) The next garden we visited was Z.Z s you climb up a steep set of steps behind his house to reach an old quarry which has been transformed into an oasis of the very best plants so here are a few. ,chers Ian the Christie kind.

All sorts of lovely things there..... not often Cyril meets someone with bigger Daphnes that he has, is it?  ;)

In photo DSC0302.... what is that browny-coloured flower? Is it a Matthiola of some sort??

Matthiola anchonifolium is probable -  or M. montana perhaps

Just been speaking to Cyril on the phone... mentioned it to him... he liked it a lot, but didn't know what it was either! There is a  label in the photo but it won't magnify clearly enough to let me read it..... and it may  not be the label of that plant!
If Kind Ian Christie doesn't know , then I'll email the pic to ZZ!

Cyril was excited by his trip to see the Czech gardens and their wonderful show and full of admiration for their plants and gardens.
