Real identity of "Campanula rigidipila" of gardens?
« on: April 30, 2010, 10:10:42 AM »
What's the correct name for the (quite nice) plant making its rounds as "Campanula rigidipila"? The real C. rigidipila is an Ethiopian native, and looks nothing like the plant I grow in my garden.

Campanula sarmatica or a closely related taxon. Occurs in Caucasus.

Thank you, that looks like a perfect match! I see that C. sarmentosa and C. rigidipila are synonyms, so the mix-up with C. sarmatica does make some sense.
