A 40 minute jog? Are you sure it was only your back you hurt when you slipped ....sounds to me  like there has been brain damage ....... ::) :o :P

Now don't go belittling us 50-something runners... although I do worry about the brain department.  Three years ago, while driving in the car with my wife, I'd spot a runner running in the rain, heat, or frigid cold, and I'd mock those runners, saying things like "look at that fool running in the [rain]".  Now, I'm one of those fools, haha.

Meeting my goal of 1000 running miles in 2009, I added up some interesting statistics:
158 runs in 2009
1003.4 miles  (1614.8 Kilometers)
8890.10  running minutes in 2009
  148.17  running hours in 2009
     6.17  running days in 2009
Total running time in 2009 in terms of 24-hour days =  6 Days + 4 hrs + 10 minutes
Total running time in 2009 in terms of 8 hr Business Days =  18 Business Days + 4 hrs + 10 minutes
Total running time in 2009 in terms of 8 hr Business Days =  3 Weeks + 3 Business Days + 4 hrs + 10 minutes
*I think about Allium, Epimediums, and wine while I'm running.

Dave,

A very belated Happy Birthday. Didn't realise you were so young - must be all that jogging. ;D

Maggi - be very afraid, Dave has the memory of an elephant.  Joggers have to you know, so they can find their way home.

I have to tell you, Maggi, that I woke up this morning with a different idea about men after watching the bluebird of paradise (Natural World) trying to attract a mate with a most exotic dance fit for a queen but she rejected him none-the-less and I thought she was carrying woman's lib just a tad too far  ;D

Dunno Robin, perhaps she thought nest building and getting in the groceries were more important than imitating Michael Jackson. ;D
