Welcome James!We also get seedling orchids in our grass, and to make mowing easier, we take a bulb planter and remove the seedling along with the soil core and exchange it for one taken from an area of grass which serves as our orchid patch. This gives a denser display of orchids, and only a limited area needs to be left unmown ubtil they've seeded.
