Crocus May 2009

It's already May, but crocus flowering is still going on here in the north. These two were planted last year and flower for the first time now. :)


 Crocus chrysanthus Herald 09
 Crocus korolkowii 09

While everyones hervesting the seeds, I want to show some pictures.
First from Abant this was my second visit. Before I have visited early april and now late april. Crocuses were all over in the lower part but in more higher part, edge of snow there were still lots of things to see.

The second crocus is olivieri supsp. olivieri. The first time everywhere were covbered with C. ancyrensis now same place is covered with C. olivieri supsp. olivieri
And which I have seen near the lake C. olivieri were look like flavus, strange but they were not have 6 divided style.
The leaves and corms were like olivieri. You can see on second picture.

Gerd, I am just enjoying to share with persons who love these small beauties.
Here are more fresh pics, taken this weekend from Uludağ. And I am sure that we can see crocus in flower here even next month because there were still lots of snow after 1900 m.

Glorious pics, Ibrahim.  I just love the abantensis.  And 087 of the pulchricolor is such a beautiful picture!!  Thanks for taking the time to prepare and post them for us (and take them in the first place!  ;)).
