Beesia from seed
« on: February 13, 2009, 02:17:06 PM »
Hi everyone,

I wondered if anyone out there had any advice regarding starting Beesia calthifolia or deltophylla from seed. I assume cold treatment, but should I be aware of anything else.

I have raised Beesia calthifolia from my own collected seed by sowing it straight from the pod in the normal way and over wintering outside.I find that it also self seeds in situ.

Thank you John. I hope it will self seed here too. I am going to have to give it indoor cold treatment now, but I put it out in the early spring. Take care.

I'm glad to know that but a bit late for me. I sowed some which I received fresh but didn't sow them immediately, a bad mistake. Some months later, nothing up.
