Ryanair have just announced a brilliant seat sale that ends on Sunday. I can fly to Stansted for £10 return no taxes and no hidden costs. Where is worth seeing in the autumn?

Were I in the position to travel I would go to Wisley, Kew, Beth Chatto's, Sissinghurst and Hyde Hall - that's my order of preference but all are wonderful gardens.

Mark, well for certain Stanstead's not worth seeing, even for free! Depends on how mobile you are after you arrive at Stanstead. Waterperry Garden is worth seeing at any time of the year (see my post in Garden Visits) it's near to Oxford. All being well I shall be at Wisley on Monday.

David Oxford is too far. Remember light levels are falling fast. Mobile is no problem because it's always in my left pocket!

a little psst! The seat sale is continuing with seats now £2 return no taxes. They do hit you with a fee for using credit cards which will bring the cost to £10 return.

If you want an excellent day out why not

Fly in to visit the fantastic National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin with a brilliant restuarant. I'll drive down to meet you.

Or why not come and visit me!? I'll get you at the airport.

Or fly in for a day visit to the brilliant AGS Dublin Group discussion weekend. Speakers this year are Peter Korn, Robert Rolfe and Martin Walsh
