Lesley, I really have to know that. Firstly, because it won't let me live peacefully without that knowledge. Secondly, it is because in my country are three Soldanella species: carpatica montana and hungarica. It is not about collecting them and have a bigger list and two species, that are impossible to differentiate. I simply want to know how anybody can tell that this is Soldanella hungarica and that is montana is they are so similar.
Last time I was trying to find difference between Pinguicula bohemica and P. vulgaris ssp. bicolor. I found the information, that there is no difference between them, only with the genes. First one have less number of them than the second one.
Or lets make it different. It is said that Crocus scepusiensis and C. neapolitanus are the same species of Crocus vernus. But they are so different in colours. This is really incomprehensible for me.
