Helleborus thibetanus - Plant or seed
« on: October 20, 2025, 08:10:06 PM »
Can anyone refer me to a source for Helleborus thibetanus (either plant or seed). In the case of a plant,
it should within the EU. I did find a supplier in Germany, however there is something wrong with their
website shop (I run into an error meassage when I reach the payment area). My bad luck??
Thanks in advance.

Frank Schmid regularly offers this species, but it’s sold out for the season. Maybe next year? He usually sells high quality plants.

Thanks for your note.
The name Frank Schmidt sounds familiar. Could you please forward his internet address so
I could take a closer look at his offerings.
Thanks in advance.

He trades under the name Floralpin.
Drop me a note if you need more specifics.
Best regards,

Hello Tom,
I have tried to send him an email order which he has rejected. At least six times I have tried to
order from his website, but every time I reach the payment area I receive an error message.
He has many wonderful plants, apart from Helleborus, Gymnospermium, Sanguinaria. Eranthis and
Daphne.
Perhaps you could persuade him to accept an email order from me??

Anyhow, thanks for your help.

I’m not so close to him that I could persuade him to do anything, but did your intended order exceed 70€? Below that threshold he does not accept orders and then you get an error message.

Thanks for your reply.
My order had a value of roughly 160 Euro so I am still wondering.
Perhaps I should send him a slow mail (a letter). In any case, there is only
one piece left of the Helleborus.

I have found another (German) supplier where I was able to order two of
the Helleborus. There is also an Italian supplier, but they are only selling to
customers in Germany, Italy, and France. Quite strange.

Finally, there is a supplier in Lithuania. They have already closed for the season,
but they should be able to provide some next spring. I have also found a very
interesting plant source in France - again, I would have to wait until sometime
next year!
