In addition to the competitive show there were awe-inspiring displays from various bonsai clubs in Scotland, sales tables with specimens up to £400!, loads of wonderful pots/pans, some of which had come from Japan, plus a schedule of talks and demonstrations in an adjoining lecture room.

I was really impressed by the number of visitors, clearly there is a huge interest in Bonsai within Scotland (something of which, I must admit, I'd been unaware).

I'm pleased to advise that The Scottish Bonsai Association https://www.scottishbonsai.org/page.cfm?page=1 will be one of the participating gardening societies/clubs at the SRGC Autumn Show in Livingston on 27 September where they will be showcasing a selection of specimens and techniques.

I visited this afternoon too and was also surprised at the numbers of people attending. There are a lot of Bonsai enthusiasts in Scotland!
I am fascinated by this art but have failed to grasp it despite several attempts. My Bonsai pots now have small sempervivums in them.
And that £400.00 one that Fraser saw was purchased while I was there.
Bo'ness. Scotland
