Glasgow Show 2025

The SRGC Glasgow Show will be held on Saturday 3rd May.
At Baljaffray Parish Church Grampian Way, Bearsdens, Glasow G61 4RN 11.30 am to 3.15pm
Plants on Show and also for sale.
 ALL WELCOME ! Admission Free!



Nurseries attending are – MacPlants, Hartside, Ardfearn, and Kevock.  Plus the Members 50:50 plant table.

A couple of shots during judging from SRGC President - and Glasgow Show Secretary - Richard Green - of juding this morning at the show.  The room looks great - seems like a really super show!

Cyril's splendid  Cypripedium Ursel won the Forrest medal   for best in show as well as the orchid  trophy
He then won the  Henry Archibald trophy  for class 2 three plants different genera
the Buchanan Challenge cup for  class 3 three rare or difficult plants  one of which a Silene received a merit cert
Former Glasgow show secy John Lee won the Urie cup for best ericaceous other than  a Rhodo with a dwarf Vaccinium

Sue Simpson had best Primula P. rusbyi and a merit cert for Junella corraloides
Grahan Catlow won the  Darling  trophy for  class 4 three rhodos one of which R Sarled was judged best rhodo in show
Peter Hood from England  had the  best Scottish native plant wth a large pot of Paris quadrifolia

David & Stella Rankin won the Buchanan trophly  for class  2 six large pots, the  Crawford cup for most first points in the show  and the  Diamond Jubilee card A for six small pots with six different Meconopsis.
local member  John di Paolo  received a merit cert for one pot of Saxifraga Snowcap and the 75th Anniversary cup for best small pot with another
Show secy and club president Richard Green  received a merit cert for his large  Arisaema griffithii

Kathleen Cartwright and Peggy Anderson shared the Wilson  trophy for most points in section 2.
Finally  your correspondent won the Don Stead  prize  for most  points in the bulb classes
