Phlox identification
« on: May 09, 2019, 06:55:02 PM »
I received this Phlox decades ago from my late friend Bernd Wetzel.
Unfortunately the plant was never identified.
When I remember well the species was collected either in Western Canada or
in the Western States of the US.
I would be glad if there will be some help from someone who is more familiar with
the Phlox family than I am.

Looks very like 'Kelly's Eye' to me.

Thank you Maggi & Will,

Kelly's Eye seems very likely. I also noted the similarity but I guessed that the plant was found in
the wild and not a cultivar.
So, it might be my friend either gave me the cultivar mentioned or he found this variation occuring naturally.

Anyway Phlox douglasii seems to be correct!
