Great day at the CGS Snowdrop event yesterday. Interesting talks and good sales.  The revelation, for me at least, was the visit to Thendon arboretum in the afternoon.  The garden itself is a masterpiece of design and good planting.  It’s in immaculate condition and clearly lovingly tended. The surprise was the great variety of carefully labelled Snowdrop cultivars (and a few species). Some of these are in large drifts while others are in smaller groups, gradually expanding I guess. It was a great opportunity to appreciate the impact of the various (many) cultivars en masse. I don’t know how many cultivars are represented, many were what I understand to be ‘good doers’, but it was almost overwhelming (never thought I would write that!). Huge respect to the gardeners who clearly know exactly what they are doing. Loved it!

I thought that perhaps you couldn't see the trees for the 'drops, David!  ;D ;D
I had an interesting time searching online to find where Thendon was, though!

Imagine my surprise  today to open the  esteemed North East Newspaper, The Press and Journal (boasting that as well as "providing local news since 1747" - it is  "The UK's best-selling regional paper") - to see this ...

A photo of Paul Barney at his stall at the Great Comp Plant Fair.
Just the photo, no comment or explanation other than you can see in the image!  Aberdeen area is approximately  570 miles from Sevenoaks in Kent!
Well done Paul, this is surely FAME on a grand scale!

Thank You, Maggi, for opening of the foto of me! I hope, You like the whole video too!
For my snowdropgarden my daughter created a little flyer and I found perfect for my garden a poem of Hugo von Hoffmannstal.
