My sincere thanks too Bjarne. Svarlbard has somehow caught my imagination and I would love to visit there one day.

Wonderful pictures Bjarne, and congratulations to Oddgeir.
I hadn't realised that so many angiosperms lived so far north.
Are conditions (& floras) in Svalbard and Jan Mayen similar or very different?

The vascular flora of Svalbard consists of about 165 native species, which is a rather high number for an archipelago so far to the north. Jan Mayen is a volcanic island and covered with moss.

More beautiful pictures Bjarne.
Like Lesley I'd dearly love to visit these magnificent places and plants one day but so far never managed to get beyond Tromsø!
And of course from there it's a big step to Bear Island and another to Svalbard, not to mention Jan Mayen ... sigh!
