Evening meal postponed
« on: February 06, 2017, 10:48:48 AM »
Fred - I will arrive for dinner this evening!! ( and I may stay for some time!!) :D

Maggi, we'll postpone our meal for another weekend. Indeed I had a fireplace yesterday. Firefighters managed to control the fire before it spread into the roof structure. However the living room and dining room are a bit unhealthy for now ...
I just spent a few hours in the ER because I inhaled too much smoke while waiting for help. I went home, it's okay, I just cough again like an old smoker.  ::)
I hope you will not be upset.  :)

Maggi, chocolate, beer and French fries (which are of Belgian origin)
But also the balls with the liègeoise, the Waterzooï, the chicon au gratin, the tomato with the gray shrimps, the carbonades of beef with the gueuze, black pudding and stoemp with Brussels sprouts, croustillon (smoutebollen), steak Pepper, fries and salad, Liège potée, speculoos, Bruxelle or cork waffle (with pearled sugar or chocolate or cinnamon), lacquemant, turbot with ostendaise ........  ;D ;D :D :P
Fred, I am distraught - but not because I must miss the meals but because your house might have burned down- and you dead from the smoke.  I am very glad the fire was controlled and you are safe home. Frightening how quickly these things can happen.  You will need to be careful for a while to take special care with your chest after the damage form smoke inhalation.  Even with the fire controlled I see that the damage to your home will take a lot of work to repair- how tiresome for you - but I suppose at least it is there to repair, and you to oversee that!   Best wishes,
 Maggi

Thank you for your support, friends. I'm fine ... I caught a big cold. I stayed two hours outside in pajamas and flip-flops at a temperature of 4 ° C before leaving for an ambulance. I only realized the pajamas in the ambulance.  ;D ::)
As for the damage, several thousand euros according to my insurer. The experts and counter-experts will come to do the struggle in the next few days. But that's their job. It's only damaged material in the end. Insurance is there for that.  ;)

Fred - Hope all's well there now and things are not as bad as first thought.  What a frightening experience.

The fright is uncontrollable, I could not dial the emergency number so hands shook.
I still asked the firemen to throw the rubble and burnt things up in the driveway and not on my new hedge and crocus park as they did. ;D
For the meal, the rest of the house is still functional, but the smell is far from that of chocolate or laquemants.  ::)
