An ericaceous plant
« on: May 31, 2016, 11:50:43 PM »
Hello. I bought this 12 inch ericaceous plant at the booth of the Quebec Rhododendron Society at a plant fair here in Montreal, Canada. The label disappeared over the winter (frost and squirrels) and I would appreciate your help in identifying it. The flowers have no scent. It lived through our USDA Zone 4 winter with protection. Thank you very much.

Shirley  - It could be one of the Linwood azaleas called 'Hardy Gardenia.  It's not very hardy, I'd rate it a good 6b or 7a unless under snow before temps drop below 5F.  There are countless double whites, the ultimate habit would help identify it or at least narrow down the options.
