Brian and I had a quiet walk lasting just about an hour. It's a winding inclining path through a mixed woodland. We met no one.

Towards the end of our walk we found just the one.
Unfortunately all the green you see ready to spring up and take over is Himalayan Balsam.

A beautiful quiet place - a shame about the Himalayan Balsam though. There are sheets of it along the River Dee in the centre of Aberdeen - it is pretty- but a menace.

I like that place, with and without Himalayan Balsam
A bit different from our walk today!

My memory of himalayan balsam was when I had to go to a training school in Ilford. The small stream there was covered in the stuff and it smelled awful in the hot sun.
