A beautiful snowdrop and such a good cause. I'm sure it'll raise a good sum.
Looks like a good weekend. Wish I could be there.

Michael Baron's book on the garden at Brandy Mount is now set to be launched at the AGS Snowdrop Day on 4th February - see book order details here.
I think  quite a few 'droppers will be looking forward to that  but of course the garden is much more than simply a snowdrop garden!

I think it's a pity that Gail Harland has not (AFAIK) found the opportunity to do something similar with her book.  I suspect many galanthophiles would enjoy reading this book but (unless they pay close attention to this forum) remain unaware of it.
Almost in Scotland.

It  did seem  unfair that we hadn't mentioned Gail's book again now the snowdrop season has started, Alan, so I've done just that in the January thread!
Mind you, with the number of readers of the threads  where it has been mentioned in this forum I think more will already have learned of it than will be  gathering on 4th February   ;)
Perhaps  Gail's book will be discussed there too!

Thank you so much for the extra plug Alan & Maggi, much appreciated!

Life events have been somewhat overwhelming lately but will try to attend a couple of snowdrop events to meet up with snowdrop friends (and remind myself that the snowdrop symbolises hope and consolation!).

A little late - apologies - but for anyone in Kent this weekend the Plant Fairs Roadshow is holding a winter event at Hole Park on Sunday 5th February (details on link below). This is a picture of an early form of Galanthus elwesii - often starting in early December, but still in flower now this year - which has made a good colony in our garden. Nothing special as Joe Sharman might say 🤔 but... Let me say a little more about it. It came from the great plants-lady Kath Dryden VMH in her Manavalins list many years ago, so holds significant memory for anyone who knew Kath well (including in times of crisis, when she was a staunch friend). So we are calling it Galanthus elwesii Kath Dryden early (for sake of a better name), and will have some strong bulbs for sale at the Best of Faversham Market this Saturday - http://www.faversham.org/events/events.aspx?p=11011430, and the Plant Fairs Roadshow event at Hole Park on Sunday - http://www.plant-fairs.co.uk/events/, and at our NGS Open Day at Copton Ash on Sunday 12th February - http://www.ngs.org.uk/gardens/find-a-garden/Garden.aspx…. plus quite a few other snowdrops of interest; along with a range of other Kentish growers.
