Galanthus heading to ebay - for charity
« on: November 05, 2015, 04:05:48 PM »
That expert grower, Melvyn Jope,  plans to put  a Galanthus 'Fotini' on ebay this weekend in aid of charity -I  will post a link when that happens, I hope.

Melvyn writes : The beautiful Galanthus reginae-olgae Fotini has woken up. If anyone is interested I will be putting a bulb on eBay, probably this weekend with all proceeds donated to Woking and Sam Beare Hospices. Hope it does well!

I seem to recall a similar price before...£364?  I can't find anywhere in my notes to substantiate this but I would think it will go higher Emma.  I like to make a bid on these things in the knowledge that I will be hugely outbid!

I think it is very generous of Melvyn to offer it for sale to benefit the hospice - I  too hope it will fetch a big price.

At just £141  now - with a little over 3 days to go.
Around half the price I have seen it offered at  by one seller in the past.

FOTINI is real a gem.
I'm so happy to have it in my collection now.
Was waiting over six years.

It is the starter of the "virescens" types.

Less than an hour to go and at £161 - still a great price. And this is for a very good cause.
