Hi there, some friends of mine went hiking in Nepal last year and brought back a couple of seed pods. They were collected above the treeline (about 3500m I think), but I don't have an exact locality.

The one on the left looks rather like a
Buddleia, which makes me wonder if my butterfly bush has seeded into my pots! And yet... it looks a bit different to
B. davidii. The right hand one looks worryingly like
Prunella vulgaris, which apparently also grows in the Himalayas.

Obviously this is an Apiaceae / umbellifer / cow parsley thing. Any ideas? I'm hoping for a nice
Pleurospermum.

Haven't the foggiest! Wondered about
Androsace or
Codonopsis but it doesn't really look right for either. I've never come across anything before that produces both a rosette and such a leafy stem.
Regards, Tristan
