Two Plants on the Katara Pass
« on: May 09, 2015, 08:26:28 AM »
Hi there Forumists,

I took these photos on the Katara Pass last year in June.

Could anyone ID them? I haven't a clue!

Cheers, Marcus

I think the grass is Stipa pennata or European Feather Grass but I wouldn't put money on it!

Is it Helianthemum nummularium or a related species?

I think your correct with stipa pennata. I used to grow it. It has fantastic long feather like seed heads that when they are mature and fall turn into cork screws and actually bore them selves into the ground as the wind blows the feathery tail.

Hi,  thanks guys.

I think you are both correct.  I really appreciate your help.
