SRGC Borders branch
« on: April 07, 2015, 07:52:23 AM »
....meets in the village hall in Bowden. As you come in convenor Christine and treasurer Teyl are there to greet you - and extract £2 for the evening  for which you get your raffle ticket and some of the best home baking you are ever likely to eat. Jim and Margaret run a sales table most items £1 which is a huge help to branch funds. There is a small branch library. Ron arranges the programme and looks after visiting speakers. One or two tables are set up for members to bring in plants for an informal and non competitive show.

Last  night two tables were needed to display all the plants and some dwarf daffodil blooms. No one had a camera  so a mobile phone was used and  the pics.  are a bit soft. Like  most branches there  is  a raffle at the end. The only part of the proceedings I have no photos of  is the home baking as I am normally first in the queue to eat it.

Thanks for this glimpse into the Borders Group, Stan. (I have made special note of your recommendation of the home baking!)

It would be so nice if the various groups would do something similar- something that has been suggested so often in the past but with no takers  :'(

The programmmes of the various groups can be found here

Yes well done Stan it was good see a thriving Local Group in action.

So, if you are a lurker and a member of a SRGC Local Group come out of the closet and let's all see what you are at and come and join the best and biggest ever Local Group with members from Musselburgh to Melbourne and back again.
