A warm welcome to the Forum from New Zealand Miriam. And thanks for your beautiful Iris picture, one I've not seen before. The blue on white shading is deliciously cool! 8) I hope you will post many more pictures in coming months especially as Israel and that general part of the Middle East is the home of some fabulous oncocyclus species as well as junos. Hopefully, you'll be able to show us some of those too?

I add my welcome to those on this forum to Miriam who I have already welcomed to ASI.
Thought I would show you my Iris planifolia which is flowering with these darker flowers at the moment whereas the early June bloom was an allover lavender (like the standards in this photo). Grown from seed.

Very very nice Pat.

Here, my Iris graberiana and I. wilmottiana have shoots just below the surface (I couldn't help myself and had to check yesterday), so I will have shoots shortly.  Yeah!!  I do so hope both of them flower, so that I have at least seen a juno iris flower in my own garden.  ;D  Of course the difficulty then is to get them to repeat it next year.  ;)

Congratulations Pat, this is a species that I always miss collecting every year ??? I don't know how, but even the friends who lives in the provinces (where it is a plague ;D), never get there at the precise moment to collect seeds.

Miriam, very glad to see you here!!, precisely Iris planifolia is one of the species that I will send you next week. It is quite hardier than Iris palestina. Fabulous pictures :o :o

Pat - nice to see your I. planifolia on the other side of the world - here everything is dry - but in  4 or 5 months the first planifolias should start to flower here again. :D
