Thanks for posting this Maggie!
I would never have entertained the idea of ordering seed from Australia -particularly of European bulbs! However, the wild-collected seed list includes some interesting Colchicum, Crocus and Frit collections which tempted me to place an order.
Ordering couldn't be easier; a short email request and payment by Paypal -quick and simple.
My seed arrived promptly considering the distance it had travelled, yet the packaging was robust and all arived in good order.
The seed collections were well-packaged, clearly labelled, of excellent quality and the portions were generous!
The cost of my order including p&p was very competitive with European sources of wild-collected seed.
I appreciate that all of this sounds like an advert for Hill View Rare Plants but this is the first time I have bought from them -but it won't be the last. I would thoroughly recommend this company to European growers, who like me would not ordinarily have considered placing an order for European wild-collected seed with a company at the opposite end of the World.
Congratulations on an excellent service Marcus!

My package from Hillview has just arrived and I can only echo Steve's comments - absolutely top notch. Interesting and varied collections, clearly labelled, generous quantities and excellent service. Will certainly buy again.

Matt,
did you already order the Dracunculus or will you be putting in another order after your sojourn in the Greek Isles?
cheers

Must restrain myself, Fermi. Not enough space for all the seed pots I have already

I got the Dracunculus as well as the rarely offered Helleborus vesicarius. Marcus' nursery is an invaluable resource for us Australian plants-people. I hope he realises how much he's appreciated.

So nice to see these messages of appreciation for Marcus - particularly since he has not been too well lately - Keep well Marcus, so you can keep up this good work.

I second all that's been said above and would strongly recommend Marcus's seeds and bulbs. He provides an invaluable source of wild-collected seed that gives excellent germination in my experience.
He's also a great source for bulbs, incl. Australian daffs. If planted in late January or February in the Northern Hemisphere these come into growth quickly and 'turn around' very successfully, by keeping them in growth as long as possible (July/August) in a cool place and feeding occasionally.
Well done Marcus

Despite trying to limit my plant purchases I couldn't resist and I placed my first order with Marcus last month and the seeds arrived in just a few days.
Like the others above I was very impressed with the process, the seeds, the price and the generosity of the packets - not to mention a couple of freebies that Marcus popped into the package. I was actually shocked by how inexpensive the seeds were after doing the currency conversion.
There are some really interesting plants on the list (despite the list being two months old I was happy to discover that Iris sari had not sold out).
I know Marcus is still unwell but he has plans to produce an updated list in a few weeks and I hope we can support him by spending some more money

I've just place an order myself, I couldn't resist any longer. Really great value for money and paying for your order with paypal makes the whole process so easy.
