Recently I ordered several ceropegias from another supplier but packs were not generous. Germination better be good.

Ashley - We got seed of Aeonium nobile from the last SRGC seedex. Gave them to a friend who sowed them in June in a hot greenhouse. They didn't come up until the first few cool days and nights came around 2 September, his cactus seed sprouted at the same time.

I think I know only one Ceropegia so guess I'd better check the genus out. Good luck with the seed.

I think I originally grew this from seed as Aichryson. I don't remember the specific name. It is annual or biennial. I never sow seed but a few usually pop up in other pots every year. I thought I had lost it but one appeared this year. I must watch for seed and make sure I do not lose it.

Ooooh I didn't realize the Aichrysons were monocarpic too. No sign of flowers here. This species - tortuosum or whatever it is Roma - isn't too happy in full sun here.

Here's that flat of Aeoniums seedlings for comparison 20 days later. They have taken off like a shot & I have a feeling they'll need 4" pots in short order. Twelve weeks from seed sowing.

An update on the Aeonium species I started from Rareplant seed in late June 2014. Post 18 @ 12 weeks old, in 1.5" plugs. And here they are 8 months later in 4" and 3" pots today. They've been at a constant 58F, watered twice a week and no fertilizer - they've been grown very lean.

11c today and a big melt, a major snow storm looms for the Sunday............

The Aeoniums are still growing like mad, thermostat set at 58F. I suspect they will start to shut down shortly with the increasing day length.

And an update on those Aeoniums started from seed in June 2014. Hard to believe they were in 4" pots a year ago, most in 10" or 12" pots today.

They certainly waste no time sizing up. Now what shall we do when they get like this?

Source of this photo lost but I suspect that this is an A. canariense hybrid.

And she doesn't appear to be the least bit frightened.
