I'm delighted with this one, Hagen, as it is the first time I have had it in the garden. And, as happens, I could not get this bulb in Ireland but was given on by a very kind lady in England so it is especially to be treasured.

Now, a little surprise from today. I picked a flower from G. 'Barnes' to bring into the heat of the house so it would open and I could photograph it. We went off for a walk and look what I found when I returned.

Excuse my ignorance, Paddy - is 'Barnes'  supposed to have four "bits"?

You have the sharp eyes, Maggi. That was the surprise - four inner and four outer segments,  a nice little surprise.
