Tuebingen Botanical Garden

Last Sunday we visited the garden and had a special look to the collection
of alpine plants. Michael Mauser, known to many friends from the Tabor
Conference showed us some of his treasures, even very interesting in spite
of being out of flowers.
Many unusual and "difficult" plants grew at the tufa wall in the alpine house,
including a rather strange Physoplexis comosa with fleshy leaves.
We plan to do the next visit in springtime and have a look at the flowers in
the open rockgarden.

Good to see  Michael again and the tufa wall - the Physoplexis comosa with fleshy leaves is rather strange- never seen one like that.

Edinburgh is pleased with how their tufa wall is progressing - but I wonder if Jiri Papousek isn't going to beat them all with his own efforts!

Your pictures brought back some happy memories Rudi. We visited Michael and his colleagues Brigitte Fiebig and Alexandra Kehl on the way back from our annual Austrian holiday in June. They visited us last year to take cuttings and it was good to see how well they had done at rooting and establishing them. We are pleased that young (certainly by our standards) professional growers are taking up the baton to ensure that Dionysia species are maintained in cultivation in places other than Goteborg.
