my own peony cross

Many years ago I had the idea for this crossing ( P.coriacea X P.lactiflora)
One reason for me was the crossing of Sauders (Lavender) repeat because I love this plant which has long been growing in our garden. The other reason was that I feared the P.coriacea is not hardy in my climate ... unfortunately I had guessed it - after a few years was not to be found in the spring.
I used pollen from P.coriacea and thus P.lactiflora "White Wings"-pollinated seeds were few and only one seedling survived, in recent days, this plant has flowered for the first time right now.

a interesting point for me is that the carpells of "Lavender" and my own cross are both very similar - the petals of lavender are bigger but maybe in few year when my cross is full established are the also bigger ...

I find it interesting also that the petals with my crossing fade after a few days ... the petals of Lavender retain their color.

Congratulations Hans - a lovely looking plant. As Maggi says the foliage looks really healthy too. Nice to see 'Lavender' too, it is not one I've ever met in person.

Dear Hans
It is a very nice plant particularly for the glossy leaves with red petioles. You should try also the reverse cross (coriacea x lactiflora)
.
There are other interesting Saunder hybrid: one called Halcyon which is albiflora x ozieri alba and another called Picotee (corsica x macrophylla): both show interesting leaves.

Each year I try to make crosses using specie peonies pollen on lactifloras but it is hard to obtain  a few firm seeds and even more difficult to grow seedling to maturity

Why not try backcross your plant with coriacea pollen?
