Hello Everyone,
Would anyone with good website/internet knowledge be interested in starting up a small website, similar to the excellent "crocus pages", which would have portraits of most existing lilium species, with images of flowers, plants and bulbs?
There are a few such websites already, but not all are easy to use and finding what you search for can be hard. Also, as there seems to be some mislabellings sometimes in the trade, I thought that it could be a good reasource for growers, especially to have an idea of what a flowering sized bulb looks like for each sp, so they can ID their lily even before planting. The website could also contain growing tips, and a section under each species where growers could add comments on their sucesses or failiures at growing a particular sp.
Of course, some sp produce quite similar bulbs, such as regale and sargentiae of course, but it could still maybe be an interesting project?
I have built up since 2005 an archive of bulb pictures from liliums in my collection (+ flowers as well), so I could provide a few images to begin with. (I should have images of bulbs of 15 or 20 sp).
there are also of course simple "gallery" websites which can be created, which are quite easy...that could maybe be an option? let me know what you think
