I think if I had spent £300 on Green Tear, I would be very sad to see Grüner Frühaufsteher!Would you shed green tears Anne? :'( The ultimate expression of being green with envy? :-\
I think if I had spent £300 on Green Tear, I would be very sad to see Grüner Frühaufsteher!Anne, Rod Leeds had a pot of green tear(or was it green dragon) at a talk me and Brian attended it is incredible, one of the best pot of snowdrops i have ever seen.
I think I know the secret of Hagen :-X :-X :-X
He cross his Galanthus with Cucumbers (gherkin)
This cumcumbers are famos in his area ( Spreewald ) and in carneval the people do not throw away from the waggons bonbons ,choclate and other sweet things as typical in germany ....in Cottbus they throw gherkin :o :o :o
So my idea for a better name than "Grüner Frühaufsteher" would be "Cottbuser Essiggurke" ( "Cottbus gherkin ") ;D ;D ;D
Hans 8)
Maggi ,Yes, I think so... and now we know what to get them for Christmas......seeds to grow their own gherkins to begin! ;)
maybe this is a valuable information for Anne + Martin ?
;)
He cross his Galanthus with Cucumbers (gherkin)(http://forum.tvoysad.ru/images/smilies/gf.gif) I have to cross strawberry with snowdrop!
Hagen, Do you use a "Gurkenflieger" for pollination ( cross between Galanthus + Cucumber ) ?
;D Hans
I read that as a "pot of green tea" & thought you galanthophiles must be an abstemious lot.I think if I had spent £300 on Green Tear, I would be very sad to see Grüner Frühaufsteher!Anne, Rod Leeds had a pot of green tear(or was it green dragon) at a talk me and Brian attended it is incredible, one of the best pot of snowdrops i have ever seen.
John W
I do not hope that soon the people from Spreewald start with eating snowdrops in salat !
Snowdrops with mustard or vinagre in glasses ....
GALANTKINS ? or GHERKTHUS? or SNOWCUMBER? or CUMCUMDROPS ?this is only a warning !!!Hans :-\
I read that as a "pot of green tea"
The inner mark on 3 is lovely Hagen :o
Here are some brothers of GRÜNER FRÜHAUFSTEHER (Galanthus is male in Germany). But they have no names. Too fresh.Hagen , you grow some beautyful and desirable G. nivalis virescens - Congratulations !
Is it green on the outers? Looks almost yellow.yes, Loes! this one has a tender tint of green-yellowish, very, very warm coloration..........
Very,very nice drop
Hello Dimitri, it is a very nice one.hi Hagen! yes, wondering to possess anyone outer green drop in the meanwhile found growing this plant blushing-colored from Odessa)) not so heavily green that you cultivate, Hagen
Good globular
and the different greens :o
You should have often a way to Odessa!!!
Hello Dimitri, I think all species are able to create VIRESCENS-types.
So you could have a chance to find another G. plicatus virescens too.
You make a difference between G. gracilis and G. graecus???
I couldn't resist posting a few more pics of Galanthus 'Green Mile' after seeing Galanthus 'Green Tear' yesterday in real life. I have to say (sorry Gert-Jan) Green Mile is slightly better. ;)
KARLA T.
Here in the foreground.
I hope you can agree with me.How could we disagree, Hagen, it has a nice round ovary or receptacle and a delicate wash of green on the outers.
This seedling is worth to find a name?!
Hagen Engelmann, did not you try to cross the most green snowdrop with the most yellow form? What did I say, Hagen? Do not wait for the bees!
Appearance of large yellow spots is possible on petals (F2-F3).
virescent types ... Are they all just finds or the result of careful breeding?
Thank you, Martin Brian, Natalia.
Here is another galanthus without snow defects: TILL SONNENSCHEIN
It is no virescens, only intermediate.
TILL SONNENSCHEIN
It is no virescens, only intermediate.
.. just wondering if people have established 'green mile' now and it's starting to filter into regular trading circles?
Hello folks outside,
the green I showed you came from an Christkind and was a gift. It is called MATT BISHOP and the name of the christchild is a little secret......
It is no nivalis, but it is a fine green gift for the christmas time.
So we will get here a green christmas!!!
The Wotan of Cottbus!Well, it is the correct day for that :)
