Fun-packed SRGC  Scottish Autumn Show & Plant Fair takes place in Livingston, West Lothian on Saturday 27th September, and it replaces our autumn discussion weekend. This FREE event is open to everyone.  Bring your family and please let your friends and neighbours know and suggest they come along too.

We have a competitive plant show where you will see lots of great plants, several gardening talks, workshops, the chance to meet experts and discuss gardening issues.

Why not put an entry in the show?  In addition to the usual classes for members, there are also classes specifically for non-members.  Bring some plants to sell on the members' plant stall. There is also plenty of opportunity to purchase plants from specialist nurseries from across Scotland and northern England. Full details and web links are below.

Loaded  up in two stages  as I always put a  few  pot plants  into  the Grangemouh HS show this weekend. Then reloaded Partner  for SRGC show  which  will stage in the morning.  Fun will come on Saturday afternoon when  both shows  close  about the same time!

Next, Stan will demonstrate his peculiar ability to be in two places at once!!

An excellent event at Livingston today, even better than last year, if that’s possible. Interesting talks and demonstrations, great exhibits in the show hall and lots of super plants to buy. My thanks to everyone who contributed for their hard work, ensuring the many of us who attended a most enjoyable day (and well done Stan!).

A very good day in Livingston with a well balanced programe for members and visitors alike.
In the  show hall the Forrest medal went to show secy Dave Millward's pot of Sternbergia.
The Jim Lever award for  best cyclamen  was won by Struan Harley's C mirabile
Your correspondent won the East Lothian  trophy for 3 plants with 2 saxes  and a gentian , the  JL Mowat trophy or best conifer  with Larix kaempferi  nana , the Wellstanlaw cup for a vase of rock garden plants and the Mary Bowe trophy for most points in the open section.

Jean Horsburgh had the  East Lothian cup or best plant in section2, Cyril Lafong had a merit cert for Raoulia eximia, Graham Catlow took the Logan Home  trophy for a mini garden as well as a gold medal for his  display of sempervivums as grown in nature. The NTS received a gold medal  for a large apple display.

The Meconopis Group display was  another recipient of a  gold medal  as was the  Scottish section of the BCSS. NTS were awarded gold for their large apple display. More snaps in the morning
